Full Disc Loose Buffs are made of many loose plies of material sewn together around the center hole. This is a soft flexible buff good for buffing or coloring all types of metal, plastics and wood. These buffs are made and sold in 20 ply sections. The section are about a ¼" thick and are placed on a straight arbor shaft. The polisher can make the face of the buffing wheel as thick as desired by adding more sections. The LIGHT GAGE, HIGH POLISH MATERIAL that these wheels are made from is the softest available next to flannel material. This material is for color buffing, high luster work only. These buffs work great with a good coloring compounds like 35X bar, 647AD, #1bar or red rouge. Be careful when trying to color buff some steel and aluminum with these as they can prove to be too soft. They may not allow enough pressure or heat to achieve the desired brightness. The same buffing wheel in standard High Grade Material could be a better choice depending on the job at hand. These wheels are great for final high luster buffing on soft metals, like brass, copper, and plastics. They also are good for certain types of aluminum and steel. Excellent for final buffing on guitars, pianos, and other lacquered parts.
